 Being an Entrepreneur requires more than being Self-employed. The
Self-employed are looking for an activity that will sustain their
lifestyles, Entrepreneurs have as their goal the building of companies
that will make Millions.
The Self-employed are often simply looking
for escape from the rigours of structured business. The Entrepreneur
does not fear this structure, it is simply a stepping stone on her way
to achieve her company goals.
For a crude example, the prostitute standing on
the street corner is not an Entrepreneur, she is simply a girl that
can't stand the discipline of a brothel where they will monitor her
working hours and drug habits. The Entrepreneur is the Madam, paying
her tax, paying off the pimps that put up the original seed money for
her to start her establishment, inviting the local Cops and Pastors to her next promotional
evening and opening a franchise of her business in the next town.

There is a simple test that each of us can do to determine if we are
Self-employed or Entrepreneurs. Ask yourself what your business goal is
. If the answer comes back something like. "Get more leisure time. Pay
my kids school fees. Pay off my credit card debt" chances are you are
Self-employed. If the answer comes back something like, "Help my
community, make the world a better place, drive up my market share,
improve my shareholder structure, change the way that this industry
operates, get more traffic to my web site" then you are likely down the
route of being an Entrepreneur.
If you are Self-employed it is time to be really honest with yourself
and ask whether you would not be better off attaching yourself to an
Entrepreneur who will do the hard thinking for you and place you in a
position to maximise your output. Be fair to your business. You may be
the one responsible for holding it back.
You can become an Entrepreneur.
Becoming an Entrepreneur does not consign you to a life of bureaucracy.
You can still remain small and be an Entrepreneur. The 21st century

this on our own. This makes us 500 times more efficient than the
industry! There is no other explanation of how high quality software
can be produced and regularly delivered to 80 countries free of charge.
