Point-of-Sale Invoice Access

Before any person can access the Point-of-Sale Invoicing facility, you need to log on to do this. By default you only need to select a Salesperson.

Important - The following access control settings on the Setup→System Parameters→Access Control menu option are available for increased access control and security:

  • Standard Security - Create Users and Passwords for each salesperson (cashier).
    Note - Once passwords have been created, nobody will be able to access the Set of Books and Point-of-Sale without a valid password.
  • Access Control - Others tab - You may set the mode or profile for an user to only access Point-of-Sale functions.
    Note - The user (cashier or salesperson) will then only be able to access the Point-of-Sale Invoicing functions.
  • Edit Selling Prices - You may also set the options if a user (salesperson or cashier) may edit the selling prices and / or quantities of stock items when processing Point-of-Sale Invoices.
    Note - The Edit Selling Price option may also be set in the Setup→System Parameters→Point-of-Sale - (Entry screen) menu option.
  • Link a user to a specific salesperson created or added in the Setup→System Parameters→Salespersons menu option.
    Note - This will only allow a specific salesperson (cashier) to access the Point-of-Sale under their own User name and Password.

Note - POS Not Setup Error Message

  1. If you launch the Point-of-Sale Invoicing and you have not done the Point-of-Sale setup, TurboCASH will display the following message:

  2. When you click on the OK button of this error message, the Point-of-Sale Setup will automatically be launched. You first need to do the basic settings, before you may proceed with the Point-of-Sale Invoices.

Start a Point-of Sale Shift - No Passwords

To Start a Point-of Sale Shift - No Passwords:

  1. Click on the Input→Documents→Point-of-Sale menu option.
    Keyboard - Keyboard Access: Press the Ctrl+F7 keys on your keyboard. Alternatively, you may press the Alt+I+D+O keys on your keyboard.
    The POS Access Control screen is displayed:
    POS Login - No Passwords
  2. The system date for today should be displayed automatically. If this date is not correct, enter or select the correct date using the date picker.
    Important - If your system date and /or time is not displayed correctly, it is recommended that you or your system administrator set the system date correctly on your system. This date is very important, as it will be displayed on the Point-of-Sale Invoices, handed to customers and on cash-up or sales analysis, and any other reports.
  3. Select the Cashier or Salesperson’s name.
  4. Click on the OK button. The Point-of-Sale Invoice Entry screen will be displayed.
