I recently received a number of emails from TurboCASH users in Zimbabwe, saying that TurboCASH Accounting can no longer accommodate small business amounts with more than 9 Zeros! We were one of the few accounting packages to accommodate the Zimbabwe users through the hundreds of Millions stage, but even we cannot hold on anymore. The inflation in Zimbabwe now outruns that of the previous record holder, the Wiemar Republic of 1923. I explained that it would take USD 15 000 to rework the system and of course this turns to Billions and becomes impossible to implement. Any currency based wealth in Zimbabwe has effectively been wiped out.

Inflation, the old enemy is back. With a few exceptions this has not been a severe threat to the world economy since the early 1980s. This now threatens us all. South Africa and a number fo other countries look well on their way to succumbing to this monster. Why is inflation bad? Surely we can all bear with slightly rising prices?
